For some of us, it’s just a regular day, but for Justin Bieber fans, it’s another reason to celebrate the semi-overexposed star. It has been announced that the Biebs has passed Lady Gaga as Twitter’s most popular person.
He scored the victory last night, as he notched a new high of 33,315,521 followers to Gaga’s 33,315,459, which is just the right amount to have him surpass Mother Monster.
According to Twittercounter.com, Justin adds an average of 40,055 users a day, a pace that should put him firmly in the lead shortly. Gaga currently adds 30,495, with Katy Perry coming in third place with 31.4 29,843 a day.
Gaga has a great head-start however, due to joining the social network a year before Justin. She has been queen of Twitter since August 2010, when she passed Britney Spears with over 5.7 million followers, a fraction of her current count. Thoughts?
There are no hard feelings between the two, as Gaga took to her twitter account to congratulate the singer by saying:
“So proud of @justinbieber and all the Beliebers! I’m only happy to see your fans growing in size, you all deserve it! Monsters support you!”
Take notes rappers. We pop music fans and artists give props where props are due… most of the time. Thoughts?
