Since the release of Idlewild in 2006, Outkast fans have been hoping for a new album from the duo.
While Big Boi expressed interest in returning with his longtime friend and partner, 3 Stacks has not, but that is about to change, well kind of.
Big Boi took to his official Twitter page to announce that he and Andre 3000 will be appearing on updated renditions of Frank Ocean‘s “Pink Matter” and T.I.‘s “Sorry.”
This serves as the first time that both members of the group have appeared on a song together since UGK‘s “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You)” in 2007. The song, which served as the official second single from UGK’s fifth studio album, Underground Kingz.
The song was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group and was #10 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007. It reached #70 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and serves as their only song to chart there.
Big Boi released his second solo studio album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors on December 11, 2012. The album debuted at #34 on the US Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 30,000 copies in the United States. Thoughts?
