Listen: Tamar Braxton’s Emotional “Love & War” Climbs Up iTunes Charts
In less than 24 hours Tamar Braxton — the youngest of Toni Braxton‘s sisters, not only released a sizzling new R&B ballad, “Love & War,” but has also managed to bum rush US and UK iTunes charts!
Now sitting comfortably at #1 on iTunes US, the emotionally-charged song is burning up the competition with little more than word of mouth — no video, no big live performances (just a showcase on her WEtv series Tamar & Vince last night), no radio play.
This puts the song ahead of top 10 singles from Rihanna (“Diamonds”), Bruno Mars (“Locked Out of Heaven”), PSY (“Gangnam Style”), Flo Rida (“I Cry”), Taylor Swift (“I Knew You Were Trouble”) and Justin Bieber (“Beauty and the Beat” ft Nicki Minaj). If you haven’t heard it, get on it below!
Listen: Tamar Braxton – “Love & War”
“We’ve made it this far and for better or worse… I wanna feel it even if it hurts…”
“Love & War,” which is also outselling Ne-Yo‘s “Let Me Love You” and Miguel‘s “Adorn” on R&B charts, will appear on the 35-year-old singer and television star’s untitled sophomore release.
Boasting Tamar‘s phenomenal vocal range, which is perhaps even more dynamic than Toni‘s — despite similarities, the single’s success is undoubtedly shutting down a lot of critics, who draw their opinions from watching Tamar‘s personality on television.
With that said, anyone who has watched knows how badly she wants to really break into the music industry, often badgering the hell out of hubby, Vincent Herbert, who manages Lady Gaga.
While we knew she was talented (all the Braxton‘s can blow), a solid first single is just what we needed to hear and we’re excited for more!
