Official artwork has been released for Rihanna‘s “Pour It Up,” the latest single from the singer’s first #1 album, Unapologetic, which released on November 19th.
The song follows the album’s first single “Diamonds,” which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and marks her 12th #1 hit.
Similar to Unapologetic‘s album artwork, Rihanna appears topless for the “Pour It Up” cover, holding a dollar bill over her mouth.
The hedonistic synthy, chopped-and-screwed trap track was written by Rihanna herself alongside Planet VI (formerly known as Rock City) and Mike Will Made-It, who also produced the song with J-Bo.
Hitting clubs as early as the very night Unapologetic dropped (I lost my shit when I heard it play at Matrix in The Bay), the braggadocios “Pour It Up” gives a female voice to the kind of “unapologetic” fun typically not celebrated by women… until now.
“Strip clubs and dollar bills, still got my money… Patron shots, can I get a refill? Still got my money…”
As the album is full of single-material, “Pour It Up” is excellent follow-up to the emotional “Diamonds.” Hopefully “Numb” and “Stay” will be next. If you haven’t heard “Pour It Up,” enjoy below.
