Dr. Dre Tops Forbes’ List of Highest Paid Musicians for 2012

Dr. Dre

Forbes has released their yearly list of the highest paid musicians and thanks to his successful headphones line, Dr. Dre holds the #1 spot on the list of 25.

The hip-hop mogul reportedly earned an estimated $110 million during a scoring period that ran from May 2011 to May 2012. Also adding to the rapper’s bank account was his headlining set with Snoop Dogg at the Coachella fest earlier this year, as well as HTC‘s purchase of his Beats brand.

Dre dethrones last year’s #1 spot holders U2, who held the spot with $195 million earned, thanks to their record-shattering 360 tour. This year, the iconic rockers fall to the #4 spot, with $78 million. Rounding out the Top 5 this year are Pink Floyd’s leader Roger Waters, Elton John, and U.K. boy band Take That.

Dr. Dre was also named Forbes’ hip-hop cash king back in September, with Diddy, Jay-Z and Kanye West, who also made the list.

Other artists on the 2012 Highest Paid Musicians list include queen, icon, and Goddess Britney Spears, as well as Taylor Swift, and Kenny Chesney — just to name a few. Take a look at the list below:
