While keeping with his ’60s soul/rock vibe, it also progresses a lot like The Police ‘s 1979 “ Message in a Bottle .”
Describing the new album as “sensual” during tonight’s live broadcast, Mars also told Billboard , “This is me going into the studio and recording and writing whatever I want, this album represents my freedom. I listen to a lot of music and I want to have the freedom and luxury to walk into a studio and say, ‘Today I want to do a hip-hop, R&B, soul or rock record.’”
When asked by a fan, Bruno revealed that his favorite line from “Locked Out of Heaven” is in the first verse: “But swimmin’ in your water’s somethin’ spiritual, I’m born again every time you spend the night…” Listen below and download it now on iTunes .
Bruno will perform the song live for first time on Saturday Night Live on October 20th!
