The Weeknd Is Set To Make His Major Label Debut In November

Over the past year The Weeknd has made quite a name for himself and has also built himself a nice fanbase. Taking his career a step further, it has been announced that the alternative R&B singer-songwriter’s label XO has signed a deal with Universal Republic , with his first release, Trilogy , dropping on November 13th.

Just as I thought, the album will feature mixed and re-mastered versions of songs from his critically-acclaimed mixtapes House of Balloons , Thursday , and Echoes of Silence , as well as new material.

He even assured us on Twitter last night , “the bonus tracks are not older unreleased records. they are being made in the studio right now. new music for my fans.”

The album’s lead single will be a song entitled “Wicked Games.”

While he’s currently putting the finishing touches on the album, he will kick off his tour on September 21st in Chicago, with shows visiting Hollywood, New York and Toronto.
