Rihanna has unveiled the official single cover for “Diamonds“ which features rolling up a rather expensive blunt. And after much speculation last week, it was confirmed that the singer will be releasing her seventh studio album in late November 2012 through Def Jam Recordings.
“Diamonds” serves as the official lead single from the forthcoming record, and was written and produced by Stargate, Benny Blanco, and Sia. It will be released on iHeartRadio on September 26th and will later be released on iTunes the same day. Take a look at what Rihanna had to say about the song below:
“You’re not sad or dancing. You’re happy and hippie. It’s laid-back, but it’s hopeful, it gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it. The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it’s about love and the gears are a little different from what people would expect. I’m excited to surprise them sonically.”
The album and single announcement comes just weeks after Rihanna announced her “Diamonds World Tour,” which kicks off on March 8, 2013. While there are currently little details about the album, the singer has worked with Sean Garrett, Ne-Yo, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta and Labrinth, just to name a few.
