Lil Wayne Breaks Elvis Presley’s Billboard Record

This is very interesting, if you ask me. Lil Wayne has managed to top the King of Rock and Roll‘s mark for the most Hot 100 appearances among solo acts. No need to fret though, Elvis still maintains a wide lead for the most entries among all artists as a lead solo act.

Since his appearance on my current favorite hip-hop/R&B song, Celebration alongside Game, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa and Chris Brown, Weezy now has 109 entries on the Hot 100, just one more than Elvis, who totaled 108 between the chart’s 1958 launch and 2003.

The cast of Glee also serves as the only act with more Billboard Hot 100 hits than Lil Wayne and Elvis, with a total of 204 entries in their 3 year fun. But while the Glee cast’s total amount of hits come from their release of multiple singles digitally week-by-week, Wayne‘s comes from sharing credits on other artists songs.

In other Lil Wayne news, it has been announced that he will be releasing his upcoming tenth studio album I Am Not a Human Being II on December 11, 2012. This comes just two days after the original release date, November 13th, was announced.
