Just as expected, Taylor Swift‘s latest single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” has managed to make it to the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This is also Taylor‘s first #1 hit single on the chart, though she has had #1′s on the Billboard 200, Digital Songs, Pop Songs, Country Songs and Country Albums charts.
Serving as the official lead single from her upcoming fourth studio album Red, which is set to be released on October 22, “We Are Never Getting Back Together” sold 623,000 in the week ending Aug. 19 — according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The song now has the #2 spot for the highest debut sales behind Flo Rida’s 2009 hit Right Round, which features vocals by a then unknown Ke$ha. Take a look at the top 10 overall digital sales weeks, since SoundScan began tracking digital sales below:
