Serving as the first official single from her upcoming fourth studio album Red, Taylor Swift‘s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together“ is set to makes its debut at the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, thanks to its strong radio airplay and a projected record first-week digital sales total.
Sent to radio late last Monday night, the song has managed to receive approximately 30 million in all-format radio audience in less than 24 hours, according to Nielsen BDS, and has joined the last severaldays’ 40 most-played titles across all formats.
Sources say that the song will sell over 600,000 downloads by the end of the Nielsen SoundScan tracking week on Sunday, August 19th. A pop and country version of the song was sent to appropriate radio formats, but the pop edit of the song is currently the only one available digitally, and I love it.
The song is also set to be listed as the largest debut for a for a digital song by a female artist, since Lady Gaga’s Born This Way racked a total of 448,000 after only 3 days on February 11, 2011. This will also give Taylor her best sales week ever since Love Story’s 360,000 over the 2008 Christmas week.
