Though she’s been all over our TV’s and Top 40 radio stations all summer, Canadian singer-songwriterCarly Rae Jepsen has yet to release her US debut or a second single, but all of that is about to change. According to Billboard, the singer’s debut album will be entitled Kiss, and is set to be released on September 18th on 604 Records/Schoolboy Records/Interscope Records. Take a look at what she had to say about the album below:
“These are lyric and song ideas that I have been collecting over the years, the record is pop. It’s inspired by Robyn, The Cars, Madonna, and believe it or not, James Taylor. I can’t wait to share it with everyone!”
The album’s lead single, “Call Me Maybe”, has so far received 4.9 million downloads in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. It serves as the third biggest selling song of the year and has spent eighth straight weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
