A few months ago, shortly after the release of her 12th studio album MDNA, it was announced that Madonna had chosen “Turn Up the Radio” as the official third single from the album.
A dance-pop track with electro elements, the song was written by Madonna alongside Martin Solveig, Michael Tordjman and Jade Williams and was produced by Solveig and Madonna herself.
Today the official video for the song has been released, and I’m slightly disappointed with it. Directed by Tom Munro, who also directed the video for Hard Candy’s second single “Give It 2 Me.“ Shot in Florence, Italy, the video manages to capture the meaning of the song and its lyrics, but I was expecting it to be more colorful and energetic.
Madonna and her background dancers all seemed to have a good time and that’s really all that matters. Take a look at the video below and share your thoughts. Purchase MDNA on iTunes or Amazon.
