Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez has been listed as #1 on Forbes Magazine‘s yearly Celebrity 100 list for the first time in her career. Over the last 12 months, she has received a total of $52 million in earnings. After landing a seat in the judge’s chair on American Idol, she later scored deals with L’Oreal, Fiat and Gillette, a top-selling fragrance and even has a clothing line at Kohl’s.
Lady Gaga, who was last year’s #1 spot holder, has managed to slip to the #5 spot with $52 million, a big drop from the $90 million she made last year. Although Oprah Winfrey had a rough 12 months, she comes in at #2 spot on the list with $165 million, thanks to her empire of spin-off shows like Dr. Phil and Rachael Ray.
The list–which includes film and television actors, TV personalities, models, athletes, authors, musicians and comedians–was defined by media visibility in print, television, radio and online, as well as social media power, which is measured by looking at each celebrity’s presence on Facebook and Twitter. The earnings consist of pretax income between May 1, 2011, and May 1, 2012. Take a look at the top 10 below which also features Britney Spears, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and more.
