‘Think Like A Man’ Debuts Unexpectedly at #1, ‘Hunger Games’ Falls to #3
After an impressive four week stint at the #1 spot, Lionsgate‘s blockbuster hit The Hunger Games, has finally slipped out of the #1 position, in fact, it didn’t even fall to the #2 position. Steve Harvey‘s Think Like a Man has managed to pull in a total of $33 million at the weekend box office, which was just enough to put it in the #1 spot.
The Sony Screen Gems film, which features Michael Ealy, Meagan Good, Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson and Gabrielle Union, was produced with $13 million and took in nearly that much on Friday, its opening day. Sony executives had expected the film to pull in about #17 million for the weekend, and were impressed with the actual outcome.
The Zac Efron romantic drama The Lucky One managed to open to #2 with a total of $22.8 million, which is slightly above studio expectations. The film is also looking to surpass it’s $25 million budget. Take a look at the full top 10 list below.
