There’s no denying that The Weeknd walked through our speakers and straight into our veins this year.
Following the release of critically-acclaimed mixtapes Thursday and House of Balloons, and one of the most amazing music videos we’ve seen this year — Abel Tesfaye has released Echoes of Silence available for download.
The highly-anticipated mixtape features 9 tracks including “Initiation” which the singer debuted 2 months ago. One track that has to be mentioned is the album’s opening, “D.D” which is a cover of Michael Jackson‘s classic “Dirty Diana.”
Due to the third mixtape’s “more experimental nature,” Abel recently tweeted, “I hope they don’t hang me for my decisions on Echoes of Silence.” After listening, we don’t expect any hangings. Feel free to tell us what YOU think though…

If you have trouble unzipping the file because of track 4 “XO : The Host” - the culprit is the colon. Here are a couple of solutions:
- Resolution 1: keep hitting “Yes” when prompted. It will eventually unzip properly.
- Resolution 2: go into the zip folder, attempt to change the “:” to “_” or delete it, then try to unzip again.
